CHICAGO - After a spectacular first-place finish from both the men’s and women’s cross country teams at the College of DuPage Invitational, junior Tess Ehrhardt and senior Photis Karkalis have been named the Horizon League Runners of the Week.

Ehrhardt was honored with the Horizon League Runner of the Week title after an impressive performance at the College of DuPage Invitational this past Friday.  She placed first of 167 runners in the 5K race, winning with a time of 18:11.7, which was 10 seconds better than her nearest competitor.

On the men’s side, Karkalis led his team to a first-place finish in the 8K race. He collected third-place honors (25:45.20) as an individual and was also one of four UIC runners to finish in the top 15 amongst 202 total runners.

The Flames return to action Friday afternoon at the Notre Dame Invitational.
