    NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Select student-athletes from the UIC men's and women's track & field teams competed in the Dr. Keehler Invitational, on the campus of North Central University on Friday. UIC posted a combined five top-20 individual finishes in the final tune-up before postseason competition at the end of the month.

    Sophomore Tess Ehrhardt stole the show on the women's side, securing a third-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She crossed the finishing line in 10:58.91, and teamed with senior Jaime Johnson (10:59.00) to set a pair of school records in the event. In the men's 100-meter dash, senior Anthony Hollingsworth finished the race in 10.84 seconds, good for a fourth-place finish. Senior Roy Mwale took 12th in the event, crossing the finishing line in 11.14 seconds.

    Other top-20 finishes for the Flames in Naperville included Mwale in the 400-meter dash (49.91 seconds) and Angelos Karkalis in the 800-meter run (1:54.45) - both student-athletes finished 16th individually. Notably, Rebecca Zaiter finished 22nd in the 1,500-meter run (4:48.75).

    Next up for the UIC track & field teams is the NCAA West Regional in Austin, Texas from May 23-25. The list of student-athletes, by event, who have been accepted to compete in each preliminary championships competition, plus those who have been accepted to compete in the heptathlon or decathlon at the final championships competition, will be announced on Thursday, May 16, by 1 p.m. ET. Additionally, those who have been accepted to compete in the heptathlon or decathlon at the final championships competition will be announced at this time.
