CHICAGO, Ill. – The men’s track & field team will be traveling to Milwaukee, Wisc., Friday, April 4 to participate in the Marquette Duals.

The meet is set to commence at 11:00 a.m. CT with the pole vault, high jump, javelin, discus and hammer throw competitions.

“I always instill in the athletes that competition is competition, whether the conditions are perfect or lousy, you still have to be a competitor,” said head coach Jim Knoedel.

Approximately 15 UIC male runners will be facing competitors from Milwaukee, Marquette and DePaul.

“The most important thing at this time of the year is improvement from week-to-week,” said Knoedel.  “Everyone can improve, no matter where they start, so it’s imperative that all of them focus on getting better.”

The remaining members of the UIC track & field teams will run at the University of Chicago Invitational as they go against teams from Elmhurst, Loyola, Beloit College, Concordia and Illinois Institute of Technology.

The U of C Invite is set for Saturday, April 5, with field events beginning at 11:00 a.m. and track events at 11:30 a.m.
