    ALLENDALE, Mich.- The men’s and women’s track and field teams concluded action at the Grand Valley State Tune-Up Friday evening. 

    The women were led by freshman Imani Dixon who competed in both the 400-and 200-meter run.  Dixon crossed the finish line in 58.51 seconds taking home third-place in the 400-meter dash.  In the 200 meters, she secured fourth-place against 32 competitors, recording a mark of 25.75 seconds. 

    Senior Mariya Denisenko participated in the long jump leaping a distance of 5.22m. 

    On the men’s side, Angelos Karkalis ran the mile, crossing the finish line sixth with a time of 4:18.47. 

    West Chicago, Ill. native, Gunnar Sterne ran the 800 meters recording a mark of 1:54.97. 

    Sophomore, Martin Hunter competed in the 200-meter dash finishing in just 22.33 seconds.  Teammate Ryan Blackmon also participated crossing the finish line in 22.70 seconds.   

    Seyi Ogunleye took home second-place in the triple jump, leaping 14.32m.

    The Flames return to action March 1-2 when they travel to Youngstown, Ohio for the Horizon League Championship.
