    Chicago, Ill. - The Horizon League announced on Tuesday evening, that University of Illinois at Chicago sprinter Marcus Lesley has been selected as the Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the period ending January 9th.

    Lesley, a junior transfer, made an immediate impact in his first meet with the Flames, claiming both a first-place finish in the 55-meter dash (6.5) and a third-place mark in the 55-meter hurdles (7.7) at the University of Chicago Open on January 8th.

    UIC will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, as they will travel to West Lafayette, Ind., to participate in the Purdue Invitational at 3:00 p.m. (CST).
