Men's Individual Results Get Acrobat Reader

Stillwater, Okla .- The UIC men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up its 2008 season at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday morning in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The men's squad finished 19th out of 23 teams, while the women's group placed 22nd out of a 27 teams.

Sam Kehoe was the men's top runner in the 10K with a 71st-place finish (33:00), which capped a successful freshman campaign. Alex Sutphen came in second on the team with a course time of 33:55 (112th).

Mark Riggs (120th) and Roger Pinon (125th) crossed the finish line within seconds of each other, while Brian Denk (149th) and Tyler Hinckley (158th) rounded out UIC's male runners.

Kristen Heckert paced the women's squad with a 50th-place finish in the 8K event. Newcomer Toni Ogundare finished second with a course time of 23:26.

Danyelle Somerfield (157th), Mary Brennan (163rd), Maritza Gomez (173rd) and Rosie Gillam (181st) completed UIC's roster.

The Flames' indoor track and field season begins on January 17 at the Redbird Invitational in Normal, Ill.
