Oct. 4, 2002
Chicago, Ill. - Junior frontrunner Jenni Goebel added to her already successful cross country season Friday afternoon, as she took top honors in the Gold Division of the Notre Dame Invitational.
Goebel paced the women's team to an eighth-place finish, while the men's team finished in ninth-place, as both squads continued their search for depth in South Bend, Indiana.
Goebel scampered the 5K course in a swift 18:03 to best the field and to pace the Flames to a top-ten finish.
The other members of the Flames' squad who did not compete on Friday at Notre Dame will take part in the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola on the banks of Lake Michigan on Saturday morning.
Competition begins at 11:15 at Montrose Harbor.
