Normal, Ill.- The UIC men's and women's cross country teams fared well at the 2007 Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational.

Alex Sutphen led the men's side with a time of 26:08, placing 43rd in the men's 8,000-meter run.

Nic Aubert (26:19/52nd), Josh Bland (26:21/54th), and Roger Pinon (26:38/73rd) also posted top finishes to pace the Flames.

On the women's side, freshman Olivia Myers finished with UIC's best time in the 5,000-meter run, crossing the finish line at 18:48. She led the Flames with a Top 20 finish.

Danyelle Somerfield (19:28/46th) and Mary Brennan (20:09/74th) also finished with a strong showing.

In the team standings, UIC men's cross country team placed 10th out of 22 teams. The UIC women's squad finished 11th out of 20 teams respectively.

UIC will return to competition on Sept. 29th at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational in Chicago, Ill.
