    Bloomington, Ind. - University of Illinois at Chicago sophomore sprinter Trent Thompson placed 23rd overall in the preliminaries of the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.85 at the NCAA Mideast Track and Field Regional, hosted by Indiana University, at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex on Friday afternoon.

    Thompson along with teammates Marcus Lesley, Justin Malec and Brandon Cook placed 14th overall in the preliminaries of the 4x100 relay with a time of 41.77.

    UIC will be back in action on Saturday morning for the second day of NCAA Regional competition at 10:00 a.m. (CST).
