Naperville, Ill. - Sophomore Nick Gazis placed seventh in the discus with a mark of 155'1" to lead the University of Illinois at Chicago men's track and field squad at the North Central College Invitational on Friday afternoon.

Freshman Pat Redden also turned in a pair of top-10 finishes in the weight events in both the javelin (8th, 124'6") and the hammer throw (10th, 138'4").

Junior jumper Bob Thurnhoffer placed 8th overall in the triple jump with leap of 43'3 ¾".
