Men's Track And Field Squad Competes At Badger Invitational

Madison, Wisconsin - The UIC men's track team, fresh of its fourth-place finish at the Midwestern Collegiate Conference Championships on Thursday, participated in the 2001 Badger Invitational at the University of Wisconsin on Saturday. Sophomore Jon White (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) earned UIC's top finish with a second-place leap of 40-feet, 5 ½ inches in the triple jump event. Senior Neto Alexander (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad/Queen's Royal College), the 2001 MCC 200-meter dash outdoor champion, placed third overall in the event on Saturday with a time of 22.11. Junior Danny Smith (Chicago, Ill./St. Patrick) crossed the finish line of the 1,500-meter run with a seventh-place mark of 4:05.46 while senior Chris Stanley (Chicago, Ill./Lyons Township) earned an eighth-place finish of 1:55.89 in the 800-meter run.
UIC will be back in action on Friday, as they will travel to Naperville, Illinois to participate in the Keeler Invitational at North Central College.
