Naperville, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago track and field athletes Nick Gazis and Bob Thurnhoffer each turned in solid efforts on Friday evening as the duo each claimed a pair of titles to lead the Flames at the Old Fashion Track Meet, hosted by North Central College.

Gazis won both the hammer throw (48.79m) and the discus throw (48.03m), while Thurnhoffer captured the long jump (6.45m) and triple jump (14.02m) titles.

Junior sprinter Gabe Rivera also picked up a pair of runner-up finishes in both the 100-meter dash (11.04) and 200-meter dash (22.58).

UIC will be back in action on Saturday, as they will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., to participate in the Butler Open.
