    Wheaton, Ill. - Senior jumper Bob Thurnhoffer captured the triple jump title with a leap of 44'2" on Saturday afternoon, to help propel the Flames to a 10th-place finish at the Wheaton Invitational.

    Thurnhoffer also placed third overall in the long jump with a mark of 20'6 ".

    Wheaton won the overall team title with 144.5 points, followed by Marquette (136), Chicago State (85), College of DuPage (71), North Central (66), Olivet Nazarene (54), Carthage (43.5), Lewis (42), Huntington (35), UIC (24), Beloit (23.5), Concordia (23), Chicago (9.5), Harper (9), Carroll College (6), MSOE (5.5), Greater Milwaukee TC (1) and Elmhurst (.5).

    Sophomore throwing specialist Pat Redden took home a runner-up finish in the hammer throw, with a toss of 142' 1 ".

    UIC will travel to Charleston, Ill., on Saturday afternoon, as they will participate in Eastern Illinois' Big Blue Meet.
