Milwaukee, Wis. - The University of Illinois at Chicago men's track and field squad received a victory and a school-record time of 10:10.13 from its distance medley relay team on Saturday evening at the Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by UW-Milwaukee, at the Klotsche Center.

UIC also received second and third-place finishes in the pole vault from senior Joe Kepinski (13'0") and freshman Jeff Simpson (11'0").

Sophomore Whitney Burns won his heat in the 800-meter run with a mark of 1:56.86 to move on to the finals.

Day two of the Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning at the Klotsche Center.
