    Romeoville, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago sprinter Trent Thompson took home a pair of top-three finishes, including a first-place mark in the 400-meter dash, to pace the men's track and field squad at the Lewis Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

    Thompson crossed the finish line of the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.73, while adding a third-place time of 22.9.

    The Flames concluded the afternoon with a pair of first-place finishes from freshman Mike Savegnago (high jump, 1.95 meters) and senior throwing specialist Nick Gazis (weight throw, 14.9 meters).

    UIC will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, as they will travel north to participate in the UW-Milwaukee Quadrangular at 11:00 a.m.
