Track & Field Takes Home Five Event Titles At University Of Chicago Invitational

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's and women's track and field teams earned themselves five event titles on Saturday afternoon at the University of Chicago Invitational.
Williams won the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.11 seconds, finishing just ahead of teammate Andy Wall who crossed the finish line in 8.34 seconds.
Royal won his second 800-meter event of the season notching a season-best time of 1:57.94.
Bailey also won his first event title of the indoor campaign in the weight throw. He finished off the afternoon throwing a distance of 16.27m.
Essien took first place honors in the triple jump with a leap of 11.75m.
After last week's record setting effort, Bostert continued her success in the weight throw. She won her first event of the season with a throw of 15.24m. Sophomore Kristen McMurray also had a nice outing, finishing behind Bostert throwing a distance of 14.82m.
The Flames' next meet will take place on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Lewis Invitational in Romeoville, Ill.
