Men's Track And Field Races At Purdue Invitational|

West Lafayette, Ind. - University of Illinois at Chicago junior sprinter Marcus Lesley turned in three, top-five finishes to pace the men's track and field squad at the Purdue Invitational in the Lambert Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.
Lesley opened with a third-place mark in the 60-meter dash (7.03), narrowly edging out teammate, Brandon Cook, who finished fifth with a time of 7.11. Lesley later added a fifth-place mark of 8.36 in the 60-meter hurdles and was a part of the fifth-place, 4x400 relay team (3:35.93) that included Trent Thompson, Justin Malec and Mike Grossman.
Cook picked up a third-place mark in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.99, finishing just ahead of Thompson, who placed fifth (23.07).
Grossman also earned a third-place finish in the 600-meter run, crossing the finish line in 1:24.35, while teammate Derek Jensen placed fifth in the event with a time of 1:32.68.
In the weight events, senior Nick Gazis placed fourth overall in the shot put (12.84m) and fifth in the weight throw (14.03m).
Freshman Frank Biank rounded out the top-five finishers for the Flames with a fifth-place mark of 12.18m in the triple jump.
UIC will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, as they will travel to Charleston, Ill., to participate in the Eastern Illinois Megameet at 10:00 a.m.
