UIC track and field coach Jim Knoedel brought his Flames up north to particpate in the team's first indoor meet of the season at the UW-Parkside Inaugural Classic on Friday. He came away from the meet with some mixed results.

The men's team finished third out of the seven teams with 86 points while the women's team placed last out of five teams with 31 points. DePaul captured the men's title with 122 points while Carthage won the women's side with 135 points.

The men received victories from Jon White (triple jump) and Joe Kepinski (pole vault) while Neto Alexander (200-meter dash), Rich Daubert (800-meter run), Nick Pitzen (55-meter high hurdles) and Sunil Varghese were each runner-ups. The men's team also captured second place in the distance medley.

The only second place finish for the women belonged to Amy Fehrman (high jump) while Kim Brown (600-meter run) and Latrice Ivy (200-meter dash) each placed third in their respective events.
