Men's Track And Field Gets Off On Right Foot In Season Opener|

Chicago, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago junior sprinter Marcus Lesley captured the 55-meter dash title with a time of 6.5 to lead the men's track and field team in the Flames' season-opener at the University of Chicago Open on Saturday afternoon.
Lesley also picked up a third-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles (7.7).
The Flames received four second-place finishes including: Brandon Cook (200-meter dash, 22.81); Mike Grossman (800-meter run, 2:00.45); Mike Savegnago (high jump, 1.92m) and Pat Redden (weight throw, 12.96m).
Sophomore transfer Trent Thompson took home a third-place mark in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.8, while teammates Sam Watson (1-mile run, 4:32.54) and Terrell Williams (pole vault, 4.19m) each finished third as well.
UIC will be back in action on Saturday, as they will participate in the Purdue Invitational at 4:00 p.m.
