2004 Highlights: Won the 1-mile run at the Chicago Pentangular with a time of 4:23.16...earned an indoor season-best time of 4:21.45 in the 1-mile run at the Iowa State Classic...picked up UIC's second-fastest indoor 1,000-meter run (2:33.35) at the UW-Milwaukee Quadrangular...owns UIC's second-fastest indoor 3,000-meter run (8:54.19) at the EIU Mega Meet...captured UIC's second-fastest outdoor times in both the 800-meter run (2:01.23) and the 1,500-meter run (4:01.00).

2003 Highlights: Finished fourth overall in the 3,000-meter run at the Eastern Illinois Mega Meet with a time of 9:02.63...took home a third-place finish in the mile run (4:28.01) at the Lewis Friday Night Series #1...earned a runner-up mark in the mile run (4:22.11) at the UW-Milwaukee Quadrangular...placed eighth in the mile (4:19.16) at the Alex Wilson Invitational...garnered second-place honors in the 5,000-meter run (15:29.3) at the Wheaton Invitational...finished fifth in the 1,500-meter run at the Chicagoland Championships with a time of 4:02.36...placed sixth in the 1,500-meter run (3:57.31) at the Lee Calhoun Memorial Meet...picked up an eighth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run at the Butler Twilight with a team-season best mark of 3:55.69...earned fifth-place honors in the 1,500-meter run at the Horizon League Outdoor Championships with a time of 3:58.5.

2002 Highlights: Set the school-record in the mile run (4:12.28) at the Cannon Classic on February 9th...was a member of the school-record Distance Medley Relay team that crossed the finish line at 10:14.98 at the Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships...cruised to the school-record in the 1,500-meter run (3:53.46) at the Marquette Quadrangular...placed third overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:28.33) at the Chicagoland Championships...won the 1,500-meter run (4:00.8) at the UIC Invitational.

2000-01 Highlights: Earned Co-Most Valuable Runner honors during the cross country of the Flames most consistent runners...finished among the Flames' top three in all seven meets that he ran performance came at the Bradley Open (5.0 miles) with a 32nd-place finish of 26:35...placed fourth overall in the 3,000-Meter Run (8:49.93) at the Illinois State Redbird Open...earned a season-best time in the Mile run (4:20.42) at the Cannon IV Classic...claimed a ninth-place finish in the 800-meter run (1:59.82) at the Chicagoland Championships...was UIC's top performer in the 5,000-meter run (15:33) at the Wheaton Invitational...garnered a fourth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run (3:58.95) at the Lee Calhoun Memorial meet.

1999-2000 Highlights: Raced to season best time of 15:50.38 in the 5000 meter run at North Central College's Keeler Outdoor Invitational...hailed by the coaches as cross country freshman of the year...finished 17th at the UIC Home Opener (22:50)...finished in 27th place at the Bradley Invitational (26:41)...was 35th at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational (26:12)...tallied a 61st place finish at the UW-Parkside Invitational (27:00)...helped the Flames to a third-place finish at the MCC Championships grabbing 24th place.

Prep/Personal: Three-time cross country MVP at Mt. Carmel High School...lettered four years in track, three in cross country and one in soccer...placed 43rd in the state championship as a junior...set three school records as a senior, putting up all-time best marks in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m...helped Mt. Carmel to the Catholic League Outdoor Track championship in 1999...won the 800m and 1600m at the conference meet as a senior while also bringing home Most Outstanding Athlete honors...born September 3, 1981...son of Thomas and Elizabeth Marren...majoring in kinesiology.
