Men's Tennis Takes Six To USTA/ITA Midwest Regional

CHICAGO – Six members of the UIC men’s tennis team prepare to compete at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional in East Lansing, Mich. on Oct. 18-22.  Competition is set to get underway on Thursday on the campus of Michigan State University.

Through the main and qualifier draws, Alexander Raa, Alan Reifer, Isaac Lloveras-Bernat, Maurizio Feoli and Rahul Kamath are scheduled to play in singles.  In doubles pairings, Feoli and Reifer, Raa and Kamath, and Lloveras-Bernat and Christopher Cole get set to take on competitors throughout the Midwest region.

The Flames previously competed at the River Forest Invitational on Sept. 14-15.  Kamath came away with the most wins during competition, going 3-0 in singles to take first place in his respective draw.  Lloveras-Bernat took the second-best record at 2-1 for second, as Reifer, Feoli and Raa were all able to come away with a win apiece.

Raa and Kamath had the most wins in doubles, going 3-0 for first, as Lloveras-Bernat and Cole came in second with a 2-1 record and Feoli and Reifer captured a first-round win to take fourth place.

In addition to being regularly paired together during the 2011-12 season, Feoli and Reifer were combined in 2012 in the Davis Cup for Costa Rica and went 2-0 in their matches.
