Men's Tennis Takes Six To ITA Midwest Regional

CHICAGO – Six members of the UIC men’s tennis team prepare to compete at the ITA Midwest Regional in Columbus, Ohio on Oct. 17-21.  Competition is set to get underway on Thursday on the campus of Ohio State University.

“This is a great opportunity to see how we fair with the best in the Midwest,” Coach Hans Neufeld stated.

Through the main and qualifier draws, James Li, Alexander Raa, Isaac Lloveras, Maurizio Feoli, Alan Reifer, and Carl Hedstrom are scheduled to play in singles.  In doubles pairings, Raa and Reifer, and Feoli and Hedstrom get set to take on competitors throughout the Midwest region.

The Flames previously competed at the SIUE Fall Invitational on Sept. 20-22.  Lloveras went undefeated throughout singles play, while Feoli and Hedstrom both came away with a 3-1 singles record at the tournament.

Hedstrom and Feoli paired up in doubles to become an unstoppable duo, going 3-0. Raa and Reifer came in second with a 2-1 record at the Invitational.
