Men's Tennis Competes At Midwest Regionals Oct. 16, 2009
ANN ARBOR, Mich.- The UIC men's tennis team competed in day one of the 2009 Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships' Qualifying Singles Bracket on Thursday. Sophomore Dave Robare defeated Toledo's Leo Sarria in two sets, 6-2, 6-2, in the first round of the qualifying singles bracket. In round two Robare defeated Green Bay's Fabian Gogolin in two sets, 6-2, 6-3, to advance to day two. Fifth-seeded sophomore Nate Kirk was eliminated in round two by Green Bay's Matt Clegg in two sets, 6-3, 7-5. The qualifying draw will resume on Friday with Robare taking on Cleveland State's Robert Fox in round three. The main singles and doubles draws will also begin on Friday.
