CHICAGO – Coming off of its first weekend of play at the River Forest Invitational, the Flames head to Edwardsville, Ill. to compete in the SIUE Fall Invitational. Aside from taking on the Cougars, UIC will also face St. Louis University (SLU), Western Illinois (WIU), and Eastern Illinois (EIU) over the course of three days.

Last weekend at the River Forest Invite, Isaac Lloveras placed second in his singles flight, while teammates Maurizio Feoli and Carl Hedstrom grabbed runner-up honors in doubles.  Alex Raa and Nate Campanile teamed up for a third-place finish, and Lloveras and Eric Pontow finished fourth in their doubles flights.

The Flames faced opponents from SLU last weekend with UIC ultimately placing third overall and SLU seventh. UIC has not faced opponents from SLU, SIUE, WIU, or EIU during the regular season since competing at St. Louis during the 2008-2009 season, and falling short to the Billikens, 5-2.

“I look forward to seeing improvement in both singles and doubles this weekend. We should compete well against the other state schools,” head coach Hans Neufeld stated.

UIC will begin play Friday, September 20 at 10 a.m. CT in Edwardsville.
