Flames Men's Tennis Announces 2013-14 Schedule

Chicago – The UIC men’s tennis team released its schedule for the 2013-14 campaign, and the Flames are set to begin competition on Sept. 13, at the River Forest Invite. The two-day event serves as the team’s main event for the fall season, and is held in River Forest, Ill.

The ITA Midwest Regional is set to begin on Oct. 17, in Columbus, Ohio and continues through Oct. 20, with the singles and doubles finalists qualifying for the National Indoor Championship later this fall.

UIC will begin their dual season at DePaul on Jan. 17, followed by a trip to Kalamazoo, Mich. to face Western Michigan (Jan. 20). The team heads back to Chicago to play host to IPFW (Jan. 25), in their home opener at the Hinsdale Racquet Club.

The Flames begin February heading to Milwaukee, Wis. for a matchup against Marquette (Feb. 2). After a two-week break, the team hosts IUPUI (Feb. 15) in their second home match of the season at the Hinsdale Racquet Club. UIC closes out the month of February across town facing University of Chicago on Feb. 22.

March serves as a busy month for UIC and opens up at Bradley (March 2) in Peoria, Ill. On March 9, the Flames will take a short trip to Evanston to face Northwestern. The team will have their first conference matchup in Valparaiso, Ind. facing the Crusaders on March 22. Dallas, Texas is home to the Flames from March 24-28 as they take their Spring Break trip. March ends back in Chicago with a matchup at Hinsdale Racquet Club versus Wright State (March 30), their second conference match of the season.

Green Bay welcomes the Flames on April 6, before heading to Detroit on April 13. The team returns to Chicago to close out their season in back-to-back home conference matchups hosting Cleveland State (April 18) and Youngstown State on April 19 at the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts.

The Horizon League Championships begins April 25, and continues through April 27 in Indianapolis, Ind.
