Indianapolis, Ind.- UIC freshman Sebastian Lystad (Oslo, Norway/Wang Toppidrett) was recognized for an outstanding rookie season with the 2007 Horizon League Newcomer of the Year award and a spot on the All-Horizon League First Team.

Lystad won 17 singles matches during his first year with the Flames, including 12 in dual matches and four in league play. He came on strong at the end of the year playing primarily at No. 1 singles.

The rookie is just three wins away from tying Ivan Kovalev's single-season school record for singles wins (20) set in 2005.

UIC faces Youngstown State on Saturday morning at the 2007 Horizon League Championships in Indianapolis.
