CHICAGO - The UIC men's tennis team (5-14, 1-4 HL) prepares for its final match of the regular season Saturday, when it welcomes Valparaiso to the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts for a 2 p.m. (CT) match, weather permitting.  If moved indoors, the Flames will play at the Oak Brook Park District Tennis Center in Oak Brook., Ill., at 4 p.m.

Through competition in the dual season, the Flames are led in singles by Christopher Cole, Rahul Kamath and Maurizio Feoli.  While both have gone 3-2 against conference opponents, Cole holds an overall record of 9-8 and Kamath comes in with a 7-10 record, while Feoli is 2-3 against League opponents and 8-7 overall.

In doubles competition, Kamath and Gautham Oroskar have gone undefeated against Horizon League foes, as they hold a 3-0 record after collecting wins against Green Bay, Detroit and Cleveland State.  Overall, Kamath has gone 5-0 against conference opponents after taking a win against Wright State alongside Cole and against Youngstown State with Isaac Lloveras.

After canceling its match with Chicago on April 17 due to rain, UIC enters into competition with hopes of making it to the post season.  The Flames are currently in sixth place with their League record of 1-4, and can clinch a berth into the postseason with a win against the Crusaders.

UIC holds the advantage over Valparaiso in their past 10 regular-season meetings, including last season's 6-1 defeat in Valparaiso, Ind.  The Crusaders are currently 11-11 overall and 0-5 in the Horizon League, and have lost their last four matches against Detroit, Youngstown State, Cleveland State and IPFW.
