CHICAGO – With its next four matches scheduled to be at home, the UIC men’s tennis team (4-10, 0-1 HL) welcomes Green Bay to the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts at noon (CT) Saturday for a Horizon League match.  The Flames are 2-2 at home this season, while the Phoenix are 4-5 when away.

UIC is returning after a tough 4-3 loss to Wright State on Saturday, March 23, at South Regency Tennis Center in Springboro, Ohio.  The Flames went 1-2 in doubles and then went on to take three singles matches.

Rahul Kamath and Christopher Cole combined for the second time this season and improved to 2-0 with their 8-6 doubles win at No. 3 against the Raiders’ Evan Neuman and Myles Harris.

Kamath and Cole, in addition to Isaac Lloveras, went on into singles to take individual wins for UIC.  Kamath took the first win with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat at No. 6 over Dan Hyman, while Cole brought in a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 3 against Ricardo Pineda and Lloveras came away with a 7-6 (5), 6-2 win at No. 4 versus Michal Lyzwa.

The Flames have been split with the Phoenix, 5-5, in their past 10 regular-season meetings, as Green Bay has won the last three after UIC took five consecutive.

As the Phoenix are scheduled to compete in their first conference match of the season Friday against Valparaiso, they hold an overall 10-6 record this season after their most recent 5-2 win over DePaul on March 24.
