CHICAGO- The UIC men’s tennis team (0-4) hosts their second home competition of the season on Saturday against Western Illinois. The match begins at 6 p.m. (CT) and will take place at the Hinsdale Racquet Club.

“We need to come out with good energy in doubles play to set the tone for our singles matches,” stated head coach Hans Neufeld.

UIC returns to competition after a tough 7-0 loss to Marquette on Sunday (Feb. 2) at the Halfaer Tennis Stadium in Milwaukee, Wisc.

Alan Reifer took his singles match to three sets, but UIC was unable to come away with a win in either singles or doubles play.

Saturday’s match against Western Illinois marks the sixth time since the 2000 season that the Flames have faced the Leathernecks. UIC has won all five meetings with WIU. Western Illinois is 0-2, and most recently fell to Saint Louis and Iowa.
