CHICAGO - The UIC men's tennis team gets set to open its 2014 campaign on Friday with a dual meet against DePaul in Lincoln Park at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Two-time Horizon League Coach of the Year, Hans Neufeld will be entering his 13th season as head coach of the Flames.

The Flames last competed in the fall at the River Forest Invitational, SIUE Invitational and ITA Midwest Regional, where the team brought in a combined 27 singles wins and nine in doubles.

This weekend’s match marks the first-of-ten on the road for the Flames this season, with the squad hosting five at home between the Hinsdale Racquet Club and the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts.

In the 2014 Horizon League preseason poll, the team was selected to place sixth in the league.

DePaul enters Friday's match after competing in five different competitions in the fall.
