Valparaiso, Ind. - The UIC men's tennis team placed five Flames in singles semifinal action at the Valparaiso Fall Classic on Friday.

Sebastian Lystad led three Flames in the A bracket to the quarterfinals, where he defeated Patrick Troy of Detroit 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the semifinals where he will face Pjotrs Necajevs from Detroit on Saturday.

Dave Robare and Nate Kirk won their first two matches in the B bracket, and are scheduled to play each other in their semi-final matches.

The Flames fared well in doubles play, as Lystad and Robare advanced to the semis in the A bracket and Bastian Harbo and Tim O'Brien will play a pair from Green Bay in the next round tomorrow.

The Flames will wrap up the tournament tomorrow.
