Peoria, Ill. - The UIC men's tennis team started the abbreviated fall schedule at the Country Inn and Suites tournament this past weekend, performing well all across the lineup.

The tournament, set up in a flighted round-robin format, pitted the Flames up against host Bradley, St. Louis and league foes Green Bay and Valparaiso.

In singles, Bastian Harbo and Sebastian Lystad represented UIC perfectly in the top two flights, with both putting up 4-0 records for the weekend.

The Flames newcomers in attendance-- Dave Robare, Nate Kirk and Khaled Abou ouf, each held their own in their first UIC appearance.

Robare and Kirk went 3-1 at No. 4 and 5 singles, respectively, and Abou ouf picked up victories over opponents from Bradley and Green Bay in the seventh position.

In doubles action, Danny Wilson and Nate Kirk teamed up at No. 2 doubles to compile a 3-1 record, only falling to St. Louis's team of Sean McManus and Jake Hendrie 8-6.

The Flames return to action this weekend for a two-day tournament at Valparaiso on September 26-27.
