Indianapolis, Ind.- The outstanding 2005 season came to an end late Sunday night for the UIC men's tennis team, as the Flames fell to top-seeded Butler, 4-0, at the Butler Tennis Bubble indoor facility in the 2005 Horizon League Men's Tennis Championship finals.

UIC fell behind early after dropping two doubles matches, and Bulldog wins at the No. 2, 3 and 4 spots clinched Butler's fourth straight title.

The Flames capped off their banner campaign with a final overall record of 14-8 and a 5-3 final mark in Horizon League action. This season marked the most wins for the team since 1983 and saw the Flames turn in their best conference finish since they finished second in 1998.

During the tournament UIC junior Ivan Kovalev, the 2005 Horizon League Player of the Year, broke the UIC single-season mark for victories with his 20th win of the season earlier today.
