Inclement Weather Can't Prevent Men's Tennis From Downing Cleveland State, Advancing To Face Wright State In Horizon League Semifinals|
April 23, 2005
Indianapolis, Ind.- The third-seeded UIC men's tennis team continued their quest for the program's first-ever conference championship on Saturday with an opening-round 4-0 victory over sixth-seeded Cleveland State in the 2005 Horizon League Men's Tennis Championship tournament.
Storms forced the league to move the tournament from North Central High's outdoor complex to various indoor facilities across the Indianapolis area. The weather also forced tournament times to be moved back and the consolation bracket to be cancelled.
The Flames face second-seeded Wright State in the Horizon League semifinals on Sunday beginning at 3 p.m. at Butler. The winner of the match heads to the finals, scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sunday, to face the winner of the UW-Green Bay/Butler semifinal match-up.
