Indianapolis, Ind. - For the second straight season the UIC men's tennis team will have to settle for a runner-up finish at the Horizon League Tournament, as defending champion Butler downed the Flames, 4-1, on Sunday at North Central High School.

UIC narrowly lost the doubles points, dropping hard-fought decisions at No. 2 and No. 3, 8-6.

In singles action, sophomore Eric Fey gave the Flames their lone tally of the day with a straight-sets victory at the No. 6 spot, 6-4, 6-3.

Singles

No. 1 Brandon Gill (BU) and Ivan Kovalev (UIC)- Did not finish

No. 2 James Low (BU) defeated Paul Glendenning (UIC)- 7-5, 6-1

No. 3 Parker Ross (BU) defeated Adriano Liccardo (UIC)- 6-2, 6-3

No. 4 Andy Bartish (BU) and Enrico Kasjan (UIC)- Did not finish

No. 5 Evan West (BU) defeated Andy Lockhart (UIC)- 6-3, 6-1

No. 6 Eric Fey (UIC) defeated Eric Breitenbach (BU) - 6-4, 6-3

Doubles

No. 1 Gill/Ross defeated Kovalev/Lockhart- 8-1

No. 2 Low/Bartish defeated Liccardo/Kasjan- 8-6
