    Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's tennis team made another huge stride in their quest for the Horizon League Championship on Thursday, sweeping every point en route to a 7-0 non-conference win over IPFW at the UIC Outdoor Courts.

    UIC (7-11) took an early lead over the Mastodons with two convincing wins on the doubles side and never looked back, sweeping every singles match to earn their first shutout victory of the season.

    Artsem Burmistrau won his 12th match of the campaign, easily downing Michael Parker at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win.

    Playing without an injured Karol Zarucki for the fourth time in the last five matches, UIC was given another rock-solid performance by senior John Cincola, who churned out a 6-2, 7-5 victory over a tough Carlos Gonzalez at the second spot.

    The Flames swept the rest of the singles slate thanks to solid showings by Paul Glendenning, Yevgen Ryeznik, Pat Zufan and Sean Kreymborg.

    UIC returns to action tommorrow in a Horizon League contest against UW-Green Bay at the UIC Outdoor Courts at 1 p.m.
