Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's tennis team received solid singles performances from Nick Bodmer and Amol Desai on Thursday afternoon, but it was not enough to hold off visiting Northern Illinois, as the Huskies went home with a 5-2 victory.

Bodmer answered the call at No. 1 singles for the Flames, ousting Ragmond Van Wasbeek is straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. Desai gave UIC its other point on the day with an exciting tie-breaker triumph over Ryan Schnack at No. 6 singles, 3-6, 6-4, (10-6).

The Flames fell behind early as Northern Illinois swept all three doubles contests to take the important point. UIC then lost straight set matches in both the No. 2, 4 and 5 matches with John Cincola dropping a three-set (2-6, 6-0, 6-0) decision at No. 3 singles.

UIC will be back in action on Saturday at IPFW.
