Men's Tennis Downs Youngstown State, 6-1

Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's tennis team swept all three doubles matches and took five of six singles bouts to pick up a key 6-1 Horizon League victory over Youngstown State at the UIC Outdoor Courts on Saturday morning. The Flames (9-7, 2-2 Horizon League) extended their winning streak to three matches while evening their league record at two. Youngstown State dropped to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in league play. UIC went up early on three dominating doubles victories for an early 1-0 lead. The momentum helped the Flames take four straight-set singles wins and a strong three-set win by Andy Lockhart to solidify the team victory. The Flames take on IUPUI today at 2 p.m. at the UIC Outdoor Courts in the second match of a doubleheader.
