Chicago, Ill. - The University of Illinois at Chicago men's tennis team is treading through a building phase in the season and the construction hit a roadblock this weekend, as the Flames were upended three times over the holiday.

On Friday versus Eastern Illinois, UIC was dropped 4-0 by the Panthers, as the host team won a quartet of singles matches for the win.

Saturday's travels took the Flames to St. Louis to battle the Billikens and things didn't get much better, as SLU swept the singles portion of the meet to win, 7-0.

The Flames did grab a win in doubles action, as Omar Husain and Wil Karydakis grabbed victory in the No.3 slot, beating Kwong and Yi Hsieh of St. Louis, 9-7(6).

UIC spent Easter in Carbondale battling the Salukis of Southern Illinois, who must have still been riding high from the exploits of the Saluki basketball team, as they bested the Flames, 6-1.

Nick Bodmer picked up the Flames' only victory of the day, beating Peter Bong of SIU in a grueling match, 4-6, 6-2, 10-7.

With the victory Bodmer tied David Bautista for fourth on the UIC all-time singles victory list with 43 career wins.

The Flames look to get back in the win column on Saturday, April 6, as they will face-off against Horizon League foes Cleveland State and Youngstown State in Cleveland starting at 9:00 AM.
