Hinsdale, Ill. - It appeared through the doubles portion of Saturday's men's tennis match between Cleveland State and UIC that the Flames were playing like they had a couple of men down.

Indeed, two of the Flames top players, Ken Howrey and John Cincola, were out with injuries and the Flames gave up the doubles point.

However, when singles play came around it was a different story, as UIC pulled off five wins to defeat the Vikings, 5-2, at the Hinsdale Racquet Club.

Yevgen Ryeznik defeated Paul Maley, 6-3, 6-1, at No.1 singles, while tested veteran Nick Bodmer won in the second hole, 6-4, 6-2, over Eric Winn.

Neil Ahluwalia moved up the fourth position and took down Shawn Whitehouse, 6-3, 6-2, while Patrick Zufan and James Wonneberg were victorious at No.5 and 6 singles, respectively.

Next up for the Flames is a Horizon League match with Butler on Sat., April 5 at Noon at Flames Courts.
