    HINSDALE, Ill. – The UIC men’s tennis team sweep their double header on Sunday at the Hinsdale Racquet Club, extending their winning streak to five straight matches. T

    he Flames defeated Villanova 5-2 in their first match and finished the day with a 7-0 win over UMKC.

    Sebastian Lystad earned two wins on the day, handling Wildcats’’ Alex Lesser in two 6-0, 6-1. Than defeating Kangaroos’ Bret Berryman 6-3, 6-4 in their night match.

     Lystad is just six wins behind Nick Bodmer for all-time career singles wins and needs one more win in doubles to tie Eric Frey for all-time career doubles wins.

    Luis Gonzaga went two for two in singles play, defeating Villanova’s Mike Taylor and UMKC’s Serge Ristivojevic, giving the junior a team leading nine singles wins on the season.

    Gonzaga fought off six match points in his win over Ristivojevic. The Brazil native took set two in tiebreaker fashion 7-6 (4), after losing the first set and came back to take the third set 12-10.

    Bastian Harbo and Nate Kirk also finished the day with two singles wins for UIC.

    The Flames went five for six in doubles competition to round out the day.

    Head Coach Hans Neufeld goes for his 100th win on Saturday Feb. 27, when UIC host Southern Illinois at the Hinsdale Racquet Club.
