BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The UIC men's tennis team kept their Saturday afternoon match at Illinois State as close as possible, but fell to the Redbirds, 4-3.

After failing to capture the doubles point, the Flames picked up a trio of singles victories against their Missouri Valley competition. Sebastian Lystad took his second win of the season at the first singles slot over Filip Mijevic, winning 6-4, 7-6.

Freshman George Hudson and Nate Kirk were victorious at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively, as Hudson beat Michael Jobson 6-3, 7-6 and Kirk took down Micah LeMoine 6-0, 6-2.

The Flames return home next weekend, entering into Horizon League action as they host Wright State on Saturday, February 7 at 6 p.m. at the Hinsdale Racquet Club.
