Men's Tennis Falls To Marquette, 6-1
Jan. 20, 2005
Milwaukee, Wis.- It was a tough trip to Milwaukee for the UIC men's tennis team, as the Flames dropped a 6-1 match to Marquette at Helfaer Tennis Stadium on Wednesday evening. UIC (1-2) received their point from a convincing 6-1, 6-2 win from Paul Glendenning over Greg Sirotek. Sean Kreymborg was close to a victory over Pete Van Lieshout, winning the first set 6-3, but Van Lieshout took the next two 6-1, 6-3. Ivan Kovalev and Andy Lockhart almost captured a big No. 1 doubles win for UIC, but the duo fell just short to Eigis Vedrickas and Troy Delmege in a 9-8 (6) defeat. Lockhart played well in a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Ian Kawas, and Karol Zarucki wasn't too shabby in another close match, a 6-4, 6-4 win by the Golden Eagles' Delmege at the No. 2 spot. UIC returns to action this Sunday, as the Flames continue a tough four-match road trip with a journey to Peoria, Ill. to face Bradley and Western Illinois. Marquette 6, UIC 1
