CHICAGO – For the third-consecutive week, UIC senior Mike Greco was named Horizon League Diver of the Week for Nov. 5-11, the League office announced on Wednesday. In addition to being his third accolade of the season, this marks Greco’s sixth-career honor.
The Naperville, Ill., native collected a pair of first-place finishes, bringing his season total to seven, while competing against divers from University of Chicago and Illinois Institute of Technology on Nov. 10. Posting NCAA qualifying scores, Greco recorded a 312.55 in the one-meter dive and a season-best 324.15 on the three-meter board.
The Flames were able to come away with a 173-15 win over the Maroons, while the team combined for a 163-66 victory over the Scarlet Hawks.
Greco’s other honors this season came for the weeks of Oct. 22-28 and Oct. 29-Nov. 4 after taking firsts against Eastern Illinois, Northwestern, Western Kentucky and Milwaukee.
UIC returns to competition on Friday, when they head to Evanston, Ill., to compete in the TYR Invitational hosted by Northwestern.
