Greco Named UICFlames.com Student-Athlete of the Week

CHICAGO – UIC diver Mike Greco has been selected as the UICFlames.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Oct. 28-Nov. 4. Greco has earned back-to-back Horizon League Diver of the Week accolades and now owns five career weekly honors. "As a senior co-captain, Mike (Greco) has been a solid leader for the team,” said head coach Paul Moniak. “His strong work ethic is obvious to his teammates as he helps elevate the expectations of our squad." The senior picked up two first-place finishes this past weekend and also notched a second- and a third-place showing in two separate meets. On Friday at Northwestern, Greco’s score of 276.20 off the one-meter board earned him the top-podium spot, while his tally of 259.65 on the three-meter board took third. At Milwaukee at Saturday, Greco took first off the one-meter board with a score of 309.00, exceeding the NCAA qualifying standard, and placed second from the three-meter height with a result of 312.38. Greco is the first member of the UIC swimming & diving team to take home the UICFlames.com Student-Athlete of the Week award.
