Chicago, Ill.- In what is becoming an annual tradition for the UIC swimming and diving program, the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced this week that the Flames men's and women's teams received Academic All-America team honors for the fifth straight semester.

The UIC women's swimming and diving team posted a team GPA of 3.08 on a 4.0 scale this past spring, while the UIC men's team put together a 2.85 GPA last semester.

The honor marks the seventh time that both UIC squads have earned Academic All-American team designations in head coach Paul Moniak's five years at the helm.

In addition to the CSCAA Academic All-American honors, the UIC swimming and diving program placed a school-best 17 student-athletes on the most recent Horizon League Academic Honor Roll and had eight student-athletes earn Horizon League Academic All-League accolades.
