Chicago, Ill. -University of Illinois at Chicago head swimming coach Paul Moniak announced the hiring of Susan Bromberg as the Flames new diving coach for the upcoming season.

"We are pleased to have Susan as our new diving coach," Moniak said. "Her impressive accomplishments and ties to diving in the Midwest will allow UIC to continue the success which our diving program has enjoyed."

Bromberg arrives to UIC with over 20 years of coaching experience in the Chicago land area.

Over the past seven seasons, Bromberg has served as the diving coach for Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill. She was named the NCAA Div. III women's coach of the year in 2006 after coaching two Forester student-athletes to All-American finishes at the national championships that season.

Bromberg's athletes amassed 10 All-American accolades and nine Midwest Conference championship titles.

Prior to her position at Lake Forest, Bromberg served as the diving coach at Highland Park high school for a decade. She also spent time at Deerfield, Regina Dominican and Maine East high schools.

Bromberg also serves as the diving coach for the Windy City club team, and has presided over the Illinois Diving Association as President since 2004. She also has severed on the NCAA Division III diving selection committee for the past three years.

A 1983 graduate of the University of Illinois-Champaign Urbana, Bromberg earned her degree in Health Education.
