Swimming & Diving Sign Emily Gniatczyk To National Letter Of Intent

CHICAGO - UIC head swimming and diving coach Paul Moniak announced on Monday that he has signed Emily Gniatczyk (Glen Ellyn, Ill./ Glenbard South H.S.) to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Flames beginning in the 2009-10 season. Gniatczyk took top ten honors at the 2009 YMCA National Championships, placing eighth in the 100 free as well as 14th in the 50 free. The Western suburban native was a member of the B.R. Ryall YMCA National team located out of Glen Ellyn and was coached by Bob Young and Jennifer Ridge. "Emily will make an immediate impact in our sprint events as well as the sprint relays," said Moniak. "We are very excited for the upcoming season."
