HONOLULU - Enduring a nearly nine-hour flight, the UIC men's and women's swimming & diving teams landed in Honolulu on New Year's Day to begin their annual training trip.

After touching down, the Flames loaded four 15-passenger vans and headed to the dorms at University of Hawaii - Manoa to check in.  Later that evening, a team dinner was held at Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu.

UIC jumped right into training on Wednesday, with the swimmers going to Veterans Memorial Aquatics Center and the divers staying at UHM.  Everyone joined later in the morning at VMAC to take a group yoga class, before heading to lunch and then Waikiki Beach.

In addition to training sessions, the Flames are scheduled to partake in an array of team activities, including visits to the Dole Pineapple Plantation and Pearl Harbor, as well as snorkeling at Hanauma Bay.
