    Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

    CHICAGO- The men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams were unable to outlast tough competition Saturday afternoon at the Flames Natatorium, as both squads fell to Northwestern and Wyoming. The men’s squad produced a 229-67 final against both the Wildcats and Cowboys. The women finished with a final of 210-86 against Northwestern, and were outscored by Wyoming 220-80.

    Senior Monica Pinkus was able to come away with two first-place finishes for the women’s team (2-5, 1-2 HL). Pinkus sped through the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.47, and took the 200 breast in 2:20.37.

    Diver Whitney Johnson proved to be an unstopped force once again in both diving events. Johnson scored a 253.10 on the 1-meter board and once again had an NCAA Qualifying Standard score of 282.10 on the 3-meter board.

    Pinkus was joined by Melanie Waszak, Katherine Hare, and Erin Sivak for the 200 freestyle relay that finished fifth with a time of 3:36.60.

    Danel Voorhees touched fifth in the 100 butterfly (58.19), while Veronica Gibson (1000 free, 10:40.61 and 400 IM, 4:36.53), and Waszak (200 fly, 2:08.68) each finished sixth in their events.

    The quartet of Sivak, Waszak, Gisun Pak, and Kelsey Millin came in sixth in their 200 medley relay with a final time of 1:50.78.

    The men’s squad (2-5, 1-2 HL) also came up short in the meet. Sophomore Kei Ishimaru touched third in both the 200 fly and 400 IM with times of 1:52.01 and 4:08.02, respectively. Ishimaru came in fifth in the in the 100 fly with a final time of 50.92, and was joined by Peter Errichiello, Conor Ozog, and Sebastian Ostrowski for the 200 medley relay finishing fifth with a final of 1:33.78.

    John Mordach touched fifth in the 1000 free (10:06.92), while Zack McClernon followed close behind for sixth with a final of 10:25.51.

    Freshmen Lance Bergmann (2:11.03) and Senior Conor Ozog (2:13.80) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 200 breast.

    The Flames have a 13-day break before heading to Evanston to compete in the TYR Invitational at Norris Aquatic Center. The three-day meet kicks off on Nov. 22 and concludes on Nov. 24.
